CULLEN, William FRS, FRSE, FRCPE, FPSG (1710-1790)

Cullen was a physician, chemist and agriculturalist. He was one of the foremost professors of medicine at Edinburgh University, and gave the first known public demonstration of artificial refrigeration there in, according to source, either in 1748 or 1756.
