Royal Company of Archers (RCA)

Founded in 1676, they are based in an A listed building, The Archers Hall in Buccleuch  Street, Edinburgh. The are the Queens bodyguard in Scotland.

Scottish Archery

A membership association of archery clubs within Scotland.

The Ancient Society of Kilwinning Archers.

Founded circa 1483 it then lapsed and reformed again in 1692. It would appear that they were perhaps the earliest society of archers but due to the early lapse they were superceded by the continuous record of the Royal Company of Archers from 1676. Today the Society regularly shoot at the butts and at the Doo of the Papingo, a wooden pidgeon atop a 100 foot tower.

The Musselburgh Arrow

Reputed to be the oldest sporting trophy in the UK, it has been competed for annually since at least 1603 by the Royal Company of Archers.
