Arbroath Smokies

A unique form of smoked haddock, given protection by a European Commission PGI in 2004. Production is restricted to the area of Arbroath in north-east Scotland.

Orkney Scottish Island Cheddar

This cheese, first produced in 1946 was granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) in November 2013.

Stornoway Black Pudding

May 2013. The European Commission has conferred Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) upon this delicacy, restricting its production to the area of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Its unique blend of ingredients in order of quantity are beef suet, oatmeal, onions and sheep’s, cow’s or pig’s blood, salt and pepper.
