In 2011 Jim McColl’s East Kilbride based Clyde Blowers purchased Finnish industrial gear manufacturer Moventas Santasalo and their wind turbine gear manufacturer Moventas Wind. It is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wind turbine gearboxes. Combined with previously acquired David Brown Gear Systems this will make one of the world’s largest gear manufacturing groups.
