The College of Piping

Established in 1944, and based at Otago Street, Glasgow, Scotland. The College is the international centre of world piping, with more than 65 years of experience in teaching Scotland’s national instrument, the Great Highland Bagpipe.

The National Piping Centre

Housed in the Old Cowcaddens Church, at the north end of Hope Street in Glasgow. It exists to promote study of the music and history of the Great Highland Bagpipe.

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association

Formed in 1930, it is the governing body, overseeing pipe band competition, promoting and encouraging the development of pipe band culture throughout the world. Since its inception it has been responsible for running the annual World Pipe Band Championships.

The World Pipe Band Championships

The Championships return to Glasgow Green, Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August 2013. The event has now been running fr over 100 years, and this year a record 225 bands from around the world will be competing.
