St Cecilia’s Hall Museum of Instruments

A £6.5 million project to create a world class museum of music will take place at St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh’s Old Town. Named after the patron saint of music, and built in 1763, it is the oldest custom built music hall in Scotland and the third oldest in the world. It will be a centre of instrumental research as part of Edinburgh University and will hold its world famous collection of early musical instruments.
